!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
(Update: I messaged the seller but got no response. Likely because I fired off about smog and title status right off the bat. No big deal it’s about 300 miles away as it was, likely dodged a bullet with whatever was beyond the bodywork/ why the headgasket got replaced )
Lord give me strength to not blow 4k right now

Only 4k? Major NP.

DO IT!

I think 4k is really cheap for these? They’ve been way more when I looked...

I would.

Get it.

S eems like they are alot closer to 9k, though this one is probably a salvage title.

G onna hit them up after work

I always liked these, especially the early ones before the facelift. I didn’t realize you could get them that cheap.

I don’t hate it

You need a Camry lol
![]() 03/31/2020 at 11:29 |

I hope it’s a clean, good car and not a rebuilt/salvage. Keep us posted!

Holy crap! 4k and has the 6 speed? Even the interior has held up way better than average.

Goooooood price but fair warning it does not appear to have cruise control, if that is important to you. Also I don’t think this is a real R-Design. It looks to be riding at stock height (or those wheels+tires are wrong?), doesn’t appear to be a stock body kit (or, rather, should be body colored?), and it doesn’t have the R-Design logo on the grill, steering wheel, or seats.
I could be wrong because I’m only familiar with post-facelift models... but something seems amiss.
Also also that cream leather (cloth?) is a pain to keep clean.
Oh and at 110k it is going to need a whole bunch of stuff. (Plugs, timing belt, etc)
STILL... a lot of car for $4k.
![]() 03/31/2020 at 11:54 |

Ok this is anal but it also doesn’t have the R-Design waterfall (center stack thingy) . IIRC all R-Designs have a sort of circular pattern instead of the flat fake metal look on the waterfall and door pulls. Might be a higher trim level thing, but yeah something stinks here...

wow that is suspiciously cheap..??...???...??
interesting.
on the edge of EPIC DEAL and EPIC SCAM

Second this as a previous owner of a C30
This is a 2.0 trim, not a true r design
![]() 03/31/2020 at 13:13 |

As a previous owner of a C30 i say get it if it all checks out.
It doesnt look to be a true r design but more of a 2.0 trim with r design badge.
The differences between the r design and the 2.0 are minimal though, just a slightly lowered suspension and badging.

A couple of local car dealerships are running radio ads proclaiming something along the lines of “NO PAYMENTS FOR SIX MONTHS! ZERO INTEREST FOR SIX YEARS! AND WE COVER YOUR RENT OR MORTGAGE FOR TWO MONTHS!”
I’ve considered trading the GTI, but I don’t know what my finances will be in two months, let alone six, the car’s still running fine, and I owe about $9k on it, which isn’t too much to owe really. So I’ll do the preventative maintenance on my VW and keep my fingers crossed that it doesn’t go ker-blewy anytime soon.
Not to say that the new Jetta GLI, Hyundai Elantra GT N-Line, or Kia Forte GT would be pretty sweet to own, but I have to be cool and be disciplined right now.

If the title is clean, major NP. Looks like the price might be lower as a result of the damage on the nose/hood, which should be easily fixable.

I mean I'm not worried if it's not a real R design as long as its mechanically good. Being a manual is enough for me
![]() 03/31/2020 at 13:53 |
|
Oh, you need this. If I was closer and had garage space, I’d probably buy it. Good price, too.
![]() 03/31/2020 at 14:17 |

Yeah that is fair. Good price. Manual. C30. YOLO.
Misrepresenting cars in ads induces a bit of internet rage in me. At least this one is actually manual and not listed as such because “you can totally manually shift the automatic!”.

Front end/ hood look pretty misaligned(indicates bad/ lazy body work) and along with what others are saying I wouldn’t waste my time with it.
![]() 03/31/2020 at 14:48 |

It’s a bad rebuild. F ront end doesn’t fit at all.
![]() 03/31/2020 at 15:15 |

Likely salvage

If there is any hint of bad communication I’m out, which is very likely
![]() 03/31/2020 at 16:11 |

OH MY GOD I DIDN’T NOTICE THAT HOOD.
100% the airbag light is “missing”.
![]() 03/31/2020 at 16:19 |
|
Im still 300 miles out so it's not a strong candidate, all depends on the seller
![]() 03/31/2020 at 16:20 |
|
Best to be 10k in debt then 23 in a time like this
![]() 03/31/2020 at 21:11 |

Also, why is the hood like that? It just doesn’t look right at the panel gaps around the edges, all uneven-y.

A flawless 10/10 repair job, surely it's even better in person
![]() 03/31/2020 at 21:51 |

Need it or not, methinks you do not want it. Car’s led way too hard a life.
![]() 03/31/2020 at 21:52 |

It’s had a blown head gasket? I wouldn’t touch it.

About 10 years ago there was a chance at a job that would have required a reverse commute to White Plains . Cheaper to garage a car in the city than hire a car to and from , and I had a C30 all specced out. Ultimately the position was never created, but it was either going to be a C30 or maybe a BMW clown shoe if I could have found one ...

Ive successfully talked my self out of it

It's fun to think about and count on people to talk you out of it. If I had lots of ready cash I'd buy lots of used cars and trucks and have my own Jay Leno Garage of cars from the 80s and 90s. My primary daily is a '96 Safari, but parts are becoming difficult to find
